1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, password (stored as a salted hash — we never see it in plain text), and optional profile details such as your country.
• Content you post: reviews, complaints, messages and claim requests, including any evidence files you attach.
• Technical data: IP address and user-agent for security, rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

We use your data to operate the platform: publishing your reviews under your display name, processing complaints, sending in-app notifications about your content, and keeping the community safe (spam detection, rate limiting, moderation).

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

3. Evidence files

Files you attach as evidence to reviews or complaints are private by design. They are stored in access-controlled storage, are never exposed at public URLs, and can be accessed only by you and BrokerBase moderators. They are never shared with the institution concerned or other users. We recommend redacting card numbers and passwords before uploading — moderators will reject files containing full payment credentials.

4. What institutions see

When a complaint is forwarded to an institution, its representatives see the complaint title, category, description and the public message thread — never your email address or evidence files. Your reviews are shown with your display name only.

5. Retention and your rights

We keep account data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account; published reviews may be anonymised rather than deleted to preserve the integrity of institution track records. You have the right to access, correct and export your data — contact [email protected].

6. Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
